In March of 2019, Bhargavi Rajesh made a life-changing decision when she met a coach at a franchising exposition in Toronto, Ontario. This journey would lead her to opening a location of a cost reduction franchise, Schooley Mitchell. But Bhargavi’s professional journey has spanned continents and cultures, giving her an incredibly unique perspective on entrepreneurship.
“The intention to operate a business was sewn several years ago, back when I was living in the Middle East, and it slowly started to sprout when the talks of relocation to Canada started in early 2018,” Bhargavi explains.
At that point, Bhargavi and her family had been living outside of Canada for over a decade, and had noticed many economic, infrastructural, and cultural changes. Choosing an opportunity that was resilient to all those shifts was an important priority.
When it came to choosing an opportunity to pursue, Bhargavi and Schooley Mitchell were a perfect match. With a background as a cost management accountant, Bhargavi had over fifteen years of experience working for multinational organizations in Canada, Kuwait, and Dubai.
“Cost savings and reducing expenses have been my primary interest and expertise,” she explains of her career. “Even in my formative years of growing up as a child I have been watching my grandparents and parents negotiating with several vendors for the appropriate price which had a great influence on me in being in the business of helping my clients save money.”
Bhargavi considered other financial brands presented to her by her franchise coach, but found they weren’t good fits. Eventually, she was introduced to another Schooley Mitchell franchisee, who explained the system.
“I fell in love with it,” Bhargavi explains. “Working with Schooley Mitchell is a no brainer for business owners and C-Suite executives who would like to operate a sustainable business.”
Schooley Mitchell’s business model, the contingency basis of its operations, and the opportunity to help other professionals all appealed to Bhargavi’s desire to help and her past career experience.
A big part of Bhargavi’s entrepreneurship journey has been her experience as a woman with multinational business experience.
“Working on different countries and continents has significantly impacted how I perceive information and operate my business.” Bhargavi says “My cultural awareness, global perspective, adaptability, networking capabilities, language skills, innovation, time management, and commitment to diversity and inclusion. Overall instilling a ‘one world family’ consciousness.”
Bhargavi is inspired by other women leaders in business and hopes to see more and more of their success in the post-pandemic landscape.
“I feel privileged to be a women entrepreneur in Canada. This is the land of opportunity for women as compared to many other countries I have lived in the past.”
Bhargavi fits right in with the overall culture at Schooley Mitchell, whose corporate office is comprised of 72% female employees, seven of whom are in senior leadership positions. Schooley Mitchell has a long-standing track record of uplifting women in business.
For women like Bhargavi, no matter where they’re from in the world, she encourages chasing your business ownership dreams.
“Firstly, I would like to congratulate you for choosing to become an entrepreneur,” she says to any woman out there that is considering investing in a franchise opportunity. “When we are committed, and firmly believe in the system and team, we will be able to achieve what we want. Choose a franchise that resonates well with you, during the low times the grit will help you overcome any challenge and bounce back.”
Bhargavi Rajesh has operated a successful Schooley Mitchell franchise for four years now, bringing her vast array of valuable experience, determination, and industrious mindset to everything she does, truly uplifting the whole system.
