Larks Entertainment (Larks) is the latest venture of seasoned industry veterans setting out to own this new entertainment vertical. Larks will grow through a series of corporate and franchisee facilities.
With an emphasis on “eatertainment”, “competitive socializing”, and the “active entertainment” category of Family Entertainment Center (FEC) sector, Larks will be launching new concepts and scaling them through franchising.
Within the new “Active Entertainment” industry, never before has any one company created a conglomerate of concept options that cross all age groups (children, teenagers and adults) and at various price points for both our franchise partners and consumers.
Our concepts require no skills, appealing to everyone and offering affordable goods and services, in a clean and safe environment. Larks Entertainment (Larks) was founded to be the preeminent operator and franchisor of entertainment concepts throughout the US, and to appeal to potential franchisees at all financial levels. Larks will launch concepts in the aforementioned areas, as well as new and exciting concepts. Our first six concepts will center around shuffleboard, mini-golf, arcade, immersive gameplay, nerf gun arenas and a restaurant/bar concept.
When the Larks team dreamt up a new family eatertainment concept, they had several key objectives to meet, among them: nostalgia, novelty, fun, ease of play, ease of play with a cocktail, and fun.
Shuffleboard, they surmised, moved the biscuit, meeting all stated objectives. Add in an arcade, miniature golf and a “everybody knows your name” style of bar and Larks was born.
What they envisioned was a place that could be a date night, a meeting friends for drinks night, a family night of fun, a night of social competition, league competition, or of mano-e-mano competition, a parents-at-the-bar and kids-at-the-attractions night, a party night, a watch-the-game night, a night of celebration, basically a great time for all, any night, every night.
In short, a place as a way to have fun, and a source of or quest for amusement or adventure, which just so happens to be the definition of “on a lark.”
Larks will leverage its platform, track record and expertise to franchise these concepts and give entrepreneurs the ability to launch and scale utilizing Larks “turn-key” franchising model (“Franchising in a box”) .With our backgrounds in financing, real estate, construction, manufacturing, and operations we will be able to quickly scale our concepts by helping franchisees in making their business successful.
Larks’ Founding Partner and CEO, Curt Skallerup, was previously the CEO of Altitude Trampoline Parks, a company that he founded and grew to over 90 parks before selling to a private equity fund in 2018. Curt is bringing his core executive team to Larks, as well as all his relationships with suppliers and franchisees. As a result, Larks can hit the ground running. Openings in three cities are imminent with an extensive list of potential franchisees standing by to open venues.
