Scooter's Coffee, one of the fastest-growing coffee franchises in the United States, aims to share our insights and experiences regarding the power of innovation in driving sustainable growth. Over the past 25 years we have experienced the remarkable impact innovation has had on our success.
Most recently, setting ourselves apart in the industry, we have established an innovation lab and relentlessly pursued improvement. Our focus lies in enhancing efficiency, ensuring customer satisfaction, and delivering high-quality high margin beverages in a drive thru lane fast and friendly. We firmly believe that remaining stagnant is not an option, and as a result, we have fostered a culture that encourages progress and exploration.
Our track record speaks for itself. Recently, we celebrated the opening of our 500th location in December 2022, and within a short span, we expanded further to reach 600 stores by April 2023. However, we have even more ambitious goals in sight. We aim to have 800 locations by the end of 2023, and 1,000 locations in 2024.
To fuel our drive for innovation, we established an innovation lab that can replicate our actual drive thru coffee kiosks. This dynamic space is equipped with cutting-edge technology, generative AI developed simulation tools, and multiple cameras, allowing us to closely examine every aspect of order preparation and identify opportunities for time savings.
Through careful observation of our stores and drawing from our deep industry knowledge, we identify areas where we can streamline operations and improve efficiency. Our baristas are amazing, and we recognize the importance of creating efficient workflows allowing them to focus on making amazing drinks amazingly fast.
To that end, in 2023 we are focusing our efforts on optimizing blended beverage production, including our popular espresso-based drinks and refreshing smoothies. One of our main objectives is to enhance the workflow and create a more ergonomic environment for our baristas and as an example are exploring solutions such as overhead storage, which not only reduces strain but also boosts efficiency.
The innovation lab serves as our proving ground for ideas. With limited space in our kiosks, strategic placement of equipment becomes vital to maximize efficiency. Through various rapid tests, such as evaluating the benefits of having our espresso machines separate or together, we aim to strike the perfect balance between smooth workflow and serving more beverages in less time.
At Scooter's Coffee, we understand the importance of every second in our operations. We have a simple rule of thumb: saving even 1 second at the window can mean serving 1 to 2 additional customers per half hour, resulting in significant revenue growth. However, we always emphasize the significance of maintaining quality alongside speed. Our optimization efforts never compromise the excellence of our beverages or the accuracy of our customers' orders.
